Hoppy Easter

Ah, Easter. You've given me much candy this year. Hidden in these tiny eggs are beautiful tokens of parents' love. Sometimes it's stickers, other times toys, and if we are lucky, there is CANDY!  At my first egg hunt, I discovered one egg that contained some amazingly delicious beans made of jelly. I then tried to open all of the eggs I could find; including the eggs that were in other baskets.

After a second egg hunt, we traveled to my grandparents house to play with cousin Zoey
And Claire.

I was introduced to the incredible Incredible Pizza. Boy did it live up to its name!

Then it was time for another egg hunt and more playing.

Included with my tons of candy, I also for my very first Popsicle at urgent care. They felt bad for me because my mom learned the hard way that you shouldn't help a kid stand up holding on to their arm... Trust me on this one!

Then we finally got to focus on the reason we were celebrating Easter. Too bad my mom made me dress up for the occasion.

But man, do I make this look good...

I hope you all had a hoppy Easter!

Beach Bum

Do you ever have the problem where your parents just keep taking you places?  To visit family, to Disney World, to the beach...? And on and on it goes... Well, if you don't suffer from the same problem, I guess you will just never understand!  Last week my parents hauled me down to Florida.

At first it was super fun. My parents let me play somewhere called the airport.

What an awesome vacation!

Then family showed up and things got even better!

Once we got to our house, I was met with warm sun, green grass, and a swimming pool. What more could someone ask for?

Well, it turns out they could ask for a whole lot more... Without taking my thoughts into account, the adults planned a trip to...

...
I cried. I screamed. I was finally forced down for a nap.

I was rudely awaken and forced to meet big animals. I wasn't thrilled, until I was reunited with my long-lost buddy, Donnald Duck.
Then for a very short period of time, things got better.

Then they turned bad again. Mom and Dad gave me a sucker to keep me from screaming. It didn't work.

After a relaxing afternoon at the house, my parents braved taking me back to Disney...
...So I repaid them by falling asleep about 3 minutes after we got there.

When I woke up, I got to FINALLY ride all the fun stuff Disney has to offer!  It turns out Disney isn't totally terrible.

"It's a small world" took my breath away!

The next day things really turned around. This amazing place offered me entertainment, the chance to make my own dinosaur, and delicious food!

My new best friend...

However, with as much fun as (the end) of Disney and TRex cafe were, hanging out with these boys was the best!

We rounded out the trip with a visit to the beach.

I even got to meet Mom's friend!

Before we could head home, we needed to make another trip to downtown Disney so that I could take some great pictures

And so I could just hang out

One last dip in the pool...

And one last walk (and nap)

And we were glad to get home!

A backyard oasis

My backyard has always been cool. I have a car, a swing, slides, and even cool dog neighbors that Dad helps me spy on

But my parents didn't think that was enough!  They talked (and talked!) it over and decided that I needed a sandbox. And yes, that's exactly what it sounds like: a box in which you put sand. Sand that gets between your toes, on your head, and in your clothes. The same sand that I've always made perfectly clear that I. Don't. Like. So, why would they want to ruin a perfectly good backyard with one of these? But, my reservations didn't stop them!  Off to the store we went.

After we got supplies, Dad cut

While I positioned

Dad used his drill to put it together; I, of course, had to supervise.

I was also on charge of handing him the screws. A job I did not take lightly. I was the best hander-outer you've ever seen!

I promise, I never once held out a screw to him only to pull it away when he reached for it. That would be irresponsible.

I have to be truthful, I might have gotten a little overzealous about handing him tools.

Guess I should have just done it myself.

Once all the sides were together, Dad and I used our hammers! I watched carefully first.

Then got right to work!

After we filled it with sand, I got right to it. Ugh!!!  I got sand on my hands!!!

Once I figured out how to throw the sand, things really started to pick up!

And now, after many long days, I have learned to love my sandbox!!

And I finally have my backyard oasis...

Right here on this tarp!
