Swimming

Who has two thumbs and loves to swim?

THIS GUY!

Mom and Dad have promised to take me swimming often now that we have a membership to the rec center with a pool!

If You Teach Your Kids to Sign "Please"

If you teach your kids to sign "please" they are probably going to find a treat they aren't supposed to have. When they find that treat, they will fuss and cry asking to eat it. Fussing and crying without getting the treat will remind them that they have a "superpower" to use. They will sign "please" and look super precious while doing it. When they sign please, you will give in because they are so cute and such a good little signer. After they get a taste of the treat, they will probably insist on consuming the whole thing.

Once the treat is finished, they will remember that crumbs often lay in the bottom on wrappers, so they might open it up and lick every last crumb.

While they are finishing the crumbs, they will dump them all over your couch. After every last morsel of food is consumed, they will go about their business of climbing on top of chairs and tossing all their toys around. Once they get bored with playing they will remember that delicious treat. They will bring you the empty wrapper and fuss some more.

And chances are, if you deny them another treat, they will remember their "superpower" and, ultimately, receive another treat (unless you're out. In which case you have to turn on Baby Einstein to get their mind off of what they want.)

One Sick Boy

I experienced something terrible. I don't know if any of you have ever been sick, but I have. This weekend I got the stomach flu. It was the worse feeling I've ever had!  It started at 5:30 Sunday morning and didn't end until 11:30 Sunday night. It was exhausting.

Even though it made me feel so bad while it was happening, I still had fun while I could.

I helped Dad in the garage.

And even spotted him while he climbed.

Now that I'm feeling better, nothing can stop my roar!

Happy Eater

Cleaning

Exactly what does a 14-month-old prefer for a toy?  A vacuum, of course!

And the washing machine...

Snow day

After we got home from our long trip to Illinois we got even more family time!  Dad's family came to stay the weekend to celebrate Christmas and Aunt Beth's birthday. My mom claims to have been too busy that weekend to have taken any pictures, so you'll just have to believe me that it happened. I had lots of fun playing with my cousins. I especially loved kissing Claire.

We got a lot of this cold, white stuff everyone called "snow". Mom brought in a bowl of it for me to play in the morning. Once our company went home Mom actually let me go outside and play in it!!

It was too cold to stay out long, so we had to cut our outside time short.

Goodbye 2013

Everyone made a big deal out of something they kept calling New Years. What I've gathered from discussions is that we say goodbye to the last year and make promises (resolutions?  I'm assuming these words are related) that will probably be broken three days in. Anyway, I feel that I should resolve to write more on my blog so that you, dear readers, have more to see of me!

My mom and I returned home after a two week trip to Illinois!  We had FUN!!  I got to play with my cousins and learn lots of fun tricks from them!

I can't wait until I'm old enough to do this...

One of my favorite things about visiting Illinois is getting to see Ranger. You see, Ranger is still a puppy. When I was just a little baby my parents gave me soft food, but poor Puppy Ranger has to eat HARD pieces of dog food!!  I couldn't believe this when I found out after trying a piece myself. I decided it was necessary to help him...so I dropped his food in his water to help soften it up. I think he appreciated it.

My good friend, Addison, came to play!  Usually when I see Addison my mom says stuff like "I wish we lived closer together!"  I'm not sure why she says this, because what I wish is that I could play with Addison more often!

We celebrated Christmas while we were in Illinois. I got to see almost all of my Illinois family!  I had such a good time visiting and playing with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents (even including my great great grandpa!). Mom didn't get any pictures of the Christmas festivities, though, so you'll have to settle for some cute pictures of me instead.

At home I got to continue celebrating Christmas!  Mom and Dad thought I would like to play with a tree, so they bought me one!  I was so happy to see it when I woke up from a nap!

I've spent a lot of time playing with my new toys.

(And apparently very little time actually wearing pants it seems from these pictures...)

I also got to play with Dad's new toy. Mom wondered out loud, again, why she bothers to buy me any toys. I wondered why she buys me boring toys and her and Dad all the fun toys!

2013 was a wonderful year!  I'm glad I documented it through my blog. While Mom and Dad were going though the blog remembering all of my cute moments, they realized that I haven't done a good enough job about posting frequently!  So I promise to do better. Here's to a new year with enough cuteness to last a lifetime!
